A competitive last day of racing at Daytona International Speedway closed the 2011 Cayman Interseries season with a bang for two of our SpeedSport Tuning Porsches!
Wayne Nykyforchyn, a SpeedSport driver who races the white and red No. 11 Cayman S in the livery of the Marlboro / Joest racing 956, won the JRZ Suspension ‘Fine Tuning Award’, as he showed the greatest improvement over the weekend with setup changes leading to faster lap times. Nykyforchyn brought home a podium finish for SpeedSport when he clinched 3rd place finish in Saturday’s enduro, and a 4th place finish in Sunday’s sprint race!
Staying consistent and fast allowed another SpeedSport driver, Charles Smithee, to pull off a double podium finish over the weekend in his #25 Cayman S styled after the Mobil 1 Porsche 911 GT1. Smithee secured two third place finishes in Saturday’s sprint and Sunday’s Bob Snodgrass enduro classic.
Congrats to both of our drivers and we look forward to helping continue your success on track!
